Have you ever had someone tell you “You can’t do it”, “you’re dreaming”, “you’re not good enough” …. I have, many times, and it hurts!
You can’t do it…
What a year it has already been. So many difficult challenges, so many hard days, sadness, loss, disasters, illness, failed businesses….the list just goes on. The thing is though, I have 100% survived it, I am still standing, still here, so let’s be thankful for that.
Giving up is not an option and I know that every time I may fail, I am a step closer to success. I understand the only way I will truly fail is if I give up. The voices that tell me I can’t do it have become my strength and the motivation I need to keep going, to prove them wrong. I always try to remember that to make themselves feel better about not trying, they look down on and criticize those who do. It is my time to show them what I’m made of!
Do not back down – you CAN do it!
You’re dreaming…
Yes I am! And I’m dreaming BIG!
I was once told “you? you think you can teach a choir? in your dreams” and so you know what I did? I taught a choir, then I taught another choir, and I have now taught 12 choirs, with another one on the way.…I’ve nailed it!
Be persistent, persuade others to believe in your dreams, because they are real. I won’t let anyone get in the way of my dreams. When you create and do something you never thought you could it is bold, it is beautiful, and it’s you!
Give it your best. Go for your dreams. It is YOUR turn!
You’re not good enough…
I grew up in a small town, everyone knew everyone, there were always others better than me, prettier than me, more educated than me, so I self-sabotaged from a very young age. Then adults jumped on that bandwagon, and I found myself never in the front row of the cultural dance group, never the solo singer, never the bride – always the bridesmaid, I felt worthless, not good enough…..but I was, I WAS good enough, I knew it, why didn’t anyone else know it?
I know better now.
I now realise, the negative voices, including my own, don’t matter. I am a strong, powerful, successful, intelligent, a true friend, sister-girl, daughter, businesswoman, and I am beautiful in my own fabulous way, I KNOW IT – so are YOU!
Learn to enjoy your journey, face your ups and downs with courage. You don’t have to strive to become someone else. Never doubt your worth, you are enough for yourself and for everyone who deserves you.
You are ENOUGH!
They said she couldn’t do it…..SHE DID IT ANYWAY.
